Getting the Debian package via apt-get
Note that as of December 2007, the Debian package available from this archive is very obsolete (dating from February 2005).
Debian users can also apt-get the package from http://debian.wgdd.de/debian by adding
deb http://debian.wgdd.de/debian unstable main contrib non-free deb-src http://debian.wgdd.de/debian unstable main contrib non-free
to /etc/apt/sources.list, and doing:
$ apt-get update && apt-get install jmol/unstable
Moving Jmol into Debian
Egon Willighagen suggested to include Jmol into Debian. Of course I am interested in getting this application officially into Debian. But this is still a long way to go. The current packages are not of a quality as required by the Debian Policy Manual. So I am still searching for a co- or maybe even a main-maintainer, who helps with the packaging. Contact me, if you are interested. In this case you maybe also want to read more about DebianScience.
Reporting Bugs
If you find a Debian specific bug in the package or want to report a package wishlist entry or only a packaging issue, then please don't use the Sourceforge.net bug tracker. The easiest way to send a bug report is using the reportbug tool from the Debian distribution. Please do not send the report directly to the maintainer:
- There is no record of this package in the bug tracking system. Send report directly to maintainer [Y|n|q|?]? n
Fill out the bug report and submit it (it will be sent to submit_at_bugs.wgdd.de).
